TFA and PAS Courses
Tirocinio Formativo Attivo (TFA), established with Ministerial Decree dated 10 September 2010, no. 249 (partly modified with Ministerial Decree dated 20 June 2014, no. 487), is a yearlong course that qualifies participants for secondary school teaching.
The TFA programme consists of:
a) 18 CFU from courses of education science;
b) 18 CFU from courses of disciplinary teaching and pedagogical-didactical laboratories;
c) 19 CFU from 475 hours of training within educational institutions;
d) 5 CFU from the final exam.

Percorso Abilitante Speciale (PAS), established with Departmental Decree dated 22 November 2013, no. 45, is a one-year course designed to achieve the qualification for teaching in secondary schools; it is intended for non-tenured teachers without a teaching qualification, who have completed at least three years of service between 1999-2000 and 2011-2012.
The PAS program consists of:
a) 15 CFU from general teaching and special teaching;
c) 18 CFU from disciplinary teaching related to the specific fields in competition;
b) 3 CFU from laboratories of educational technology.
Academic year 2013-14
7 Percorso Abilitante Speciale (PAS) courses have been activated within the Department of Humanities for the academic year 2013-14.
